From a working herd to a registered livestock company
Ugo Heritage Farm Ltd began the way most good farms do — with animals to look after and a great deal to learn. Years of hands-on keeping in the Federal Capital Territory taught us which breeds thrive here, how feed costs really behave across a season, and how much of the Nigerian livestock trade runs on guesswork.
We built the business around removing that guesswork. Animals are weighed rather than eyeballed. Health treatments are recorded rather than remembered. Prices are quoted directly rather than negotiated through a chain of middlemen who each need their cut.
In October 2023 we formalised what had grown into a substantial operation, incorporating as Ugo-Heritage Farms Ltd and later registering with SCUML so that hotels, processors and supermarket chains could buy from us with proper documentation.
Today we supply individuals, restaurants, hotels, butchers, supermarkets, wholesalers and commercial farms right across Nigeria — and most of them are buying from us for the second, third or tenth time.

How we got here
- Before 2023
Years of hands-on farming
The farm grew out of more than a decade of practical livestock keeping in the FCT — learning breeds, feed, seasons and the realities of the Nigerian market the hard way.

Formally incorporated
Registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission as Ugo-Heritage Farms Ltd (RC 8963172) under the Companies and Allied Matters Act 2020, on 31 October 2023.

SCUML registration
Registered with the Special Control Unit against Money Laundering (SCUML 152116738), enabling us to trade transparently with corporate and institutional buyers.

A multi-species supplier
Cattle, goats, sheep, pigs, poultry, rabbits and guinea fowls — plus stud services, chicken brooding, grooming and boarding — delivered across Nigeria.
How the animals are actually kept
Welfare claims are easy to make. These are the specific routines behind ours.
Housing & Hygiene
Pens are roofed, ventilated and cleaned daily. Stocking density is kept below the point where disease spreads easily, and sick animals are isolated the moment they are spotted.
Nutrition
Rations are formulated by class of animal rather than fed by habit — grazing plus measured concentrate for ruminants, and stage-appropriate feed for poultry and pigs.
Health Programme
A structured vaccination and deworming calendar runs under veterinary supervision, with treatments logged per animal so the history can be handed over at sale.
Biosecurity
Controlled access to pig and poultry houses, footbaths at entry points, and a quarantine period for any animal brought in from outside the farm.
Humane Handling
Staff are trained to move stock calmly. Animals handled daily from a young age load and travel better, and arrive with you in the condition you paid for.
Traceability
Records tie each animal to its health history and, for improved lines, its lineage — so what we tell you about an animal is something we can actually evidence.
Farming the land so it still works in twenty years
Rotational grazing gives pasture time to recover instead of being grazed to bare soil. Manure is composted and returned to the land rather than piled up as a disposal problem, which cuts our fertiliser cost and keeps runoff out of local water.
We conserve forage during the rains — hay cut and stored while it is effectively free — so the dry season does not force us into buying expensive feed at the worst possible moment. Breeding decisions favour animals that thrive on local conditions rather than ones that only perform under constant intervention.
None of this is charity. Sustainable practice is simply the version of farming that is still profitable in a decade.
